But for putting beats and samples together in a drum machine type workflow, no other software beats it.Īnd so like many others I waited for Geist 2 with baited breath. It's not a perfect plugin - small interface, fiddly browser, certain limitations etc. I barely needed to read the manual, although I did anyway (and it's top notch). They definitely know what they are doing.I fell in love with Geist 1 almost straight away because of its logical, intuitive workflow. But if you're expecting something with the similar workflow of Maschine it's not that, it's got it's own style, which is greatīut really it's all good, will be a great product, good to have in the toolkit for sure if you like it's workflow and the way it does things. That's what I'm saying here, just because it sequences and samples doesn't make it the same Again, it's a good product, folks will like it for sure. Even though you could do most of the same stuff in other DAWs, and there is overlap between Live and other DAWs, the way it's done is different. For example, Ableton Live can do alot of stuff that can be found in other Daws, but I still say it's different than every other DAW out when it comes down to it. I don't think similar features/abilities makes a product the same. I guess any software that comes out with pads and a sequencer will be "x company's version of guru" in many folks minds since they were the first to do that style of software. For me, it's not, that's all I can say on the matter at this point lol. There's some things I really like about FXpansion in their products, I always liked their pad layering/fx options in GURU/Geist for example.īut if you think GURU is similar to Maschine then I suppose for you Geist will be similar as well. Like I said, even without the controller, software to software, they are different animals. And from my own experience, these are two different products, sure they are both groove based sampling products but the workflow is totally different between them imo. Well, I never thought GURU was anything like Maschine personally, having owned both.
